Who are we looking for?
You have a first-grade geography qualification (or are studying for one) and are motivated to contribute to a growing Waldorf school in development. You believe in ownership by pupils, like to think about educational innovation and enjoy working in a close-knit team.
This vacancy can be combined with one of our other vacancies (such as mentorship), if it suits your desire, background and experience.
Next school year, our first batch of mavo students will take their geography exams, followed by havo the year after and vwo two years later. We are therefore looking for a geography teacher with demonstrable experience in teaching upper secondary and final exam classes.
We are looking for someone who is familiar with the examination programmes and requirements for geography (mavo, havo and vwo), who can prepare pupils for the central exam in a goal-oriented way, and who stands firm in his or her shoes. You know how to structure the subject matter, build a clear learning line towards the exam and have an eye for individual coaching. You can coach pupils in their geographical thinking, help them develop an understanding of spatial and social connections and apply concepts, maps and models, and guide them towards optimal results.
You have experience with geography in upper secondary schools and are able to differentiate according to level and profile. You know how to both support and challenge pupils and can switch between conceptual understanding, current affairs, case studies and targeted exam preparation.
In addition, we expect you to actively contribute to the further development of our upper secondary geography education and contribute to ensuring quality within the examination years.
We also consider it important that you are willing to educate yourself in Waldorf education so that we can promote and safeguard our educational vision together.

- An employment contract based on the CAO VO, scale LB or LC (depending on experience and profile).
- An appointment of 0.15 - 0.2 fte - in consultation we determine what suits you. Possibly expandable with mentorship.
- Teaching only exam students - with small appointment is also a possibility.
- Holiday pay, end-of-year bonus and good pension scheme through ABP.

No two days are the same. You will start the morning with a day start in the team, then you will teach eager-to-learn dynamic classes where there is plenty of room for interaction. Between classes there is time for consultation, coaching or a coffee break with colleagues. - For the team

About Kairos Teen College
About Kairos College
The Kairos College (until 1 August still Kairos Teenage College) is a relatively young school for secondary Waldorf education in Amsterdam North. From school year 2026-2027, Kairos College will continue as an independent school under its own management.
In school year 2026-2027, we provide education to 280 pupils in grades 1 to 4 in heterogeneous classes up to the third year. In the same school year, the first mavo final exams take place. In subsequent years, we will grow into a fully-fledged comprehensive secondary school with examination routes for mavo, havo and vwo.
Development and pioneering phase
In the coming years, Kairos College will still be in a pioneering phase. This means that we are building together to further develop the school, the curriculum and the organisation. This phase calls for committed, experienced and initiating professionals who want to participate in the further growth and shaping of our school.
