The function
We find it important that you are able to teach interactive, challenging lessons using a variety of (digital) teaching methods. In this position, your tasks include the following:

  • preparing, conducting and evaluating profession-specific lessons such as medical knowledge (anatomy/disease/medicine knowledge), triage and medical technical handling;

  • as a mentor guiding students while working on vocational assignments, during classes and in their school careers;

  • making tests;

  • Contribute to the development of educational materials;

  • conducting exams;

  • Participate in various consultation events;

  • performing common teaching tasks within the team.

About the team
The Healthcare Department provides various courses, which train and prepare students for a position in Healthcare. These include the positions of assistant, carer and nurse. We also train for positions such as assistant in Health Care (AG); doctor, pharmacist and dentist assistants.
You will join the Helping Care and Welfare team where passionate staff strive to bring out the best in students. We offer education in Zaandam and Purmerend. In the near future also in a district learning centre in the region. Affinity with the Helpende Zorg en Welzijn target group is highly desirable.
Besides regular education, LLO (lifelong development) is increasingly becoming part of our MBO. This means that, as a teacher, you play a role in providing opportunities for students and other adults to continue developing their knowledge and skills, even after completing their MBO education. You do this, if required, on location. LLO ensures that people stay vital and are flexibly and sustainably employable in the labour market. 

Job requirements

Your profile

  • Work experience as a caring IG/nurse is a must;

  • You have a completed or nearly completed teacher training programme for Zorg en Welzijn and are qualified to teach in MBO. If you do not (yet) have a qualification, you must be willing to obtain one;

  • you are focused on cooperation in a results-oriented team;

  • you have coaching skills;

  • You are able to see and influence group dynamics within your group. You are strong in your classroom management and in establishing professional relationships with your students;

  • you have excellent written and oral expression skills.

  • This is initially a temporary appointment for the period of one year, with the possibility of an extension;

If you have no teaching qualification for MBO, you will be graded as a teacher in scale LB (max. € 5,495 for a full-time appointment). Classification takes place on the basis of knowledge, skills and education;

  • holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.33%;
