Have you not yet been able to find a suitable job at a school? Are you wondering if you can continue to work alongside your current job? Then Aan de Slag voor de Klas might be something for you.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><br>The Battle for the Class (ASK) is a tailor-made program from the University of Amsterdam for pre-service teachers who want to become primary school teachers. It was developed to train more teachers in subjects where the teacher shortage is severe. Specifically, this applies to the following subject areas: <strong>General economics,<\/strong> <strong>German, English, French, Computer Science, Classics, Physics, Dutch, Chemistry, Spanish and Mathematics<\/strong>.<\/div><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Job requirements<\/h2><div>Getting Started for the Classroom is designed for professionals who:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>holding a master's or doctoral degree (WO), directly related to the relevant subject<\/li>\n<li>already have extensive and broad work experience (&gt;10 years) in a sector other than education<\/li>\n<li>They want to pass on their expertise to a new generation and contribute to good education.<\/li>\n<li>have the desire to work with teenagers.<\/li><\/ul><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Employment conditions<\/h2><div>The benefits of Getting Started for the Classroom:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>We offer an introductory orientation program (Check-in) in which you get acquainted with the program and spend a few days at a school. This way you can experience whether you really want to take the step to become a teacher. In addition, we support you in preparing for the assessment that gives access to a lateral entry program.<\/li>\n<li>After a positive outcome of the assessment, we support and guide you in finding a short-term job at a school (minimum 2 days per week). The school you will be employed at can apply for a side-stream subsidy to cover the training costs.<\/li>\n<li>The training program begins in September 2027 and lasts 1.5 to a maximum of 2 years. In the first year, there are four intensive collegeweekends spread over the year. Additionally, in year 1 and year 2, there are monthly evening meetings with lectures and interdisciplinary discussions. You will attend the lectures together with other students who are starting the program.<\/li>\n<li>The course can be combined with another job (of up to 0.6 FTE), so that you can make the transition to teaching in part or gradually.<\/li>\n<li>Hybrid teachers, who bring their experience outside teaching into the classroom, are sought after by schools.<\/li><\/ul><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application information<\/h2><div>The program has been developed by the Interfaculty Teacher Training Programs of the University of Amsterdam, in collaboration with training schools. We primarily serve the Greater Amsterdam region, North Holland, the Gooi and Eemlanden area, and Haarlemmermeer; our partner schools are located here. Candidates from outside this region can also participate in Aan de Slag voor de Klas, where they search for their own workplace at a school.<br>&nbsp;<br><strong>Sign up<\/strong><br>Does our program appeal to you and would you like to experience whether a job as a teacher suits you?
