Have you not yet been able to find a suitable workplace at a school? Are you wondering whether you can continue your current job alongside it? Then Aan de Slag voor de Klas might be something for you.\n you.<\/strong><br>\n<br>\nAan de Slag voor de Klas (ASK) is a customised programme run by the University of Amsterdam for lateral entrants who want to become first-grade teachers in secondary education. It is designed to train more teachers in subjects where the teacher shortage is\n high. Specifically, this involves the following school subjects: <strong>General economics,<\/strong>\n<strong>German, English, French, Computer Science, Classics, Physics, Dutch, Chemistry, Spanish and Mathematics<\/strong>.<\/div><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Job requirements<\/h2>\n<div>Getting Started for the Classroom is designed for professionals who:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>holding a master's or doctoral degree, and sufficient subject-specific professional knowledge directly related to the relevant subject<\/li><li>already have extensive and broad work experience (&gt;10 years) in a sector other than education<\/li><li>want to transfer their expertise to a new generation and contribute to good education.<\/li><\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Employment conditions<\/h2>\n<div>The benefits of Getting Started for the Classroom:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>We offer a guided orientation programme (Check-in) in which you are introduced to the programme and spend a few days at a school. This way, you can experience whether you really want to take the step to becoming a teacher. In addition, we support you in preparing\n for the assessment that gives access to a lateral entry trajectory.<\/li><li>After a positive outcome of the assessment, we will support you in finding a small appointment at a school (at least 2 half-days a week). The school where you will be employed can apply for a lateral entry grant that will pay for the training.<\/li><li>The training program begins in September 2027 and lasts 1.5 to a maximum of 2 years. In the first year, there are four intensive collegeweken spread over the year. In addition, in year 1 and year 2, there are monthly evening meetings with lectures and intervision.\n You will follow the courses together with other students from other study programmes.<\/li><li>The course can be combined with another job (of 2-3 working days), allowing you to make a partial or gradual transition to teaching.<\/li><li>Hybrid teachers, who bring their experience outside teaching into the classroom, are sought after by schools.<\/li><\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application information<\/h2>\n<div>The programme was developed by the Interfaculty Teacher Training Department of the University of Amsterdam, in cooperation with training schools. We mainly serve the Greater Amsterdam region, North Holland, Gooi and Eemlanden and Haarlemmermeer; this is where\n our cooperation schools are located. Candidates from outside this region can also participate in Aan de Slag voor de Klas; they look for their own workplace at a school.<br>\n&nbsp;<br>\n<strong>Sign up<\/strong><br>\nIs our program appealing to you and would you like to experience whether a job as a teacher suits you?
