\nAbout the school<\/strong>
\nIn the heart of Zaandam lies the oldest secondary school in the Zaan region: the Zaanlands Lyceum. The school has been awarded the \"excellent school\" designation for its VWO (pre-university) stream. The school accommodates approximately 1200 pupils and 145 staff members.\nThe Zaanlands Lyceum is a public school for HAVO (senior general secondary education), Atheneum (grammar school), and Gymnasium (classical grammar school). The school is open to every pupil, regardless of their beliefs or background. Pupils respect each other's backgrounds and convictions. Education is aimed at maximising the development of our pupils' and staff members' talents in an inspiring and atmospheric environment. The spacious and bright school building is situated on very generous grounds with plenty of greenery and boasts superb outdoor sports facilities.
