In a world that is changing faster than ever, our pupils need a teacher who helps them decipher the chaos. At Werenfridus, we are looking for a <strong>Civics teacher<\/strong> the link between the rule of law, politics and the lived experience of young people.<\/em><br>\n<br>\nAt Werenfridus, in addition to being part of a subject group, you are also part of a team. The team, along with the team leader, is responsible for the educational outcomes and the pedagogical-didactic approach within the department. We work with five teams, namely: the first year, junior secondary vocational education (HAVO) and pre-university education (VWO) lower years, and HAVO and VWO upper years. Based on your affinity with the target group and the organisation's needs, you will be assigned to one of the upper year teams in consultation.<br>\n<br>\n<strong>What will you do?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>At Werenfridus, you are given the space to truly make a difference for students in the middle of their secondary school education.<\/li><li>You are a <strong>\u2018Host or hostess in the classroom<\/strong>you create a safe environment in which pupils take ownership of their own learning process (formative assessment).<\/li><li>You give about <strong>7 lessons per week<\/strong> To our HAVO and VWO students.<\/li><\/ul>\n<strong>Working at Werenfridus<\/strong><br>\nWorking with us (part of Tabor College) means working at a school rich in tradition and ambition. Our modern school building is divided into\n<strong>Learning houses and learning plazas<\/strong>, which creates a personal and cosy atmosphere. You will join a team of loyal colleagues, where the doors are literally and figuratively open.<br>\n<br>\n<em>\"We believe in the balance between relationship and results: we offer the structure you need and the freedom you can handle.\"<\/em><br>\n<br>\nThe school is widely known in the surrounding area for the tailored opportunities we offer children with talents in diverse fields or for pupils who want or can handle more academically.<br>\n<br>\n<strong>School plan<\/strong><br>\nThis school year, we launched the new school plan (see video below). The basis of this school plan is to support pupils to become engaged, independent and motivated world citizens. We want to do this by providing meaningful education\n with an emphatic place for formative action and the basic skills of language and maths, digital literacy, citizenship.&nbsp;<br>\n<br>\n<strong>Bilingual education<\/strong><br>\nThe pupils are given the opportunity to follow bilingual education (TTO). This means that approximately 50 per cent of the regular lessons are taught in English, for both havo and vwo. For social studies, part of the vwo programme is taught in English. In addition to TTO, we also have a gymnasium department. Furthermore, pupils can take exams in Sports and Arts.<br>\n<br>\n<strong>What do we expect from you?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>You (almost) own a <strong>first-degree qualification.<\/strong><\/li><li>You are an educator at heart. You see the students and the students see you.
