\nAt Werenfridus, English is much more than a compulsory exam subject; it is the lingua franca of the future. Are you looking for the depth of first-grade lessons and can you captivate upper-level HAVO\/VWO students with everything from Shakespeare to modern pop culture? Then we are looking for you!

\nWe are looking for from coming school year<\/strong> a teacher who not only speaks the language fluently but also has the passion to teach students to think critically and speak in an international world.
\n
\nWhat will you do?<\/strong>
\nYou are being appointed to 0.6 FTE \u2013 1.0 FTE<\/strong>. You focus on the upper years of HAVO and VWO, where you prepare students for their next big step.
\n
\nAbout our department<\/strong>
\nYou will join a department of 12 colleagues. Within this department, collaboration and knowledge sharing are central, which will help you feel at home quickly.
\n

\nTeam<\/strong>
\nAt Werenfridus, in addition to being part of a subject department, you are also part of a team. Together with the team leader, the team is responsible for the educational outcomes and the pedagogical and didactic approach within the department. We work with five teams, namely: the foundation year, the lower secondary HAVO and VWO streams, and the upper secondary HAVO and VWO streams. Based on your affinity with the target group and the organisation's needs, you will be assigned a place in one of the teams in consultation.

\nSchool plan<\/strong>
\nThis school year, we launched the new school plan (see video below). The basis of this school plan is to support pupils to become engaged, independent and motivated world citizens. We want to do this by providing meaningful education\n with an emphatic place for formative action and the basic skills of language and maths, digital literacy, citizenship.

\nLanguage is so much more than just words and grammar<\/strong>

\n\"Language is so much more than just words and grammar; it opens doors to new perspectives and possibilities. That's why I love teaching English, as it not only helps students to master a foreign language but also to connect with other cultures and global issues. I enjoy incorporating projects into my lessons and allowing students to be creative. Furthermore, I want to make literature more accessible, so that they are not deterred by big names like Shakespeare, but can confidently read and understand his work. And hopefully, allow literature to play a role in their lives.

\nI'm originally from Argentina, born and bred. I've been living here for 6 years and have worked at various schools. Werenfridus is where I feel at home. We have a large and enthusiastic English department, where together we get the best out of our pupils. We meet once a week for department meetings. This is always enjoyable and means clear communication and quick action. On Friday afternoons, we also have a pleasant \"brown drink\" = hot chocolate for staff who sometimes teach until the 8th period. I really enjoy working here.\"
